Overwhelmed by Skincare Options?

Overwhelmed by Skincare Options? - MOX Skincare

With so many skincare options out there, how do you know where to start?

The most important topical ingredients for your skin are the same as the most important internal ingredients for your body. Look for products with topical vitamins A and C.

Let's talk Vitamin C

There are different types of vitamin C. We will talk mainly about two types:

  1. Ascorbic acid
  2. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate

Ascorbic acid is a commonly used form of vitamin C, mainly because it is a cheap ingredient for manufacturers to use. The problem is this kind of vitamin C actually oxidizes in sunlight which makes the product pro-aging instead of anti-aging. That is not what we're looking for.

Check your product labels and ingredient lists. If you're using products with inferior forms of vitamin C, like ascorbic acid, make sure you are not using it past 3 months and that you keep it out of heat and sunlight. Better yet, look for products with a vitamin C that is lipophilic and fat soluble, like Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate.

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is far more stable and better-able to penetrate the skin. It's the superstar of topical vitamin C. Studies have shown that it stimulates collagen production, clarifies, and brightens. It also works to mitigate the damaging effects of UV exposure. Unlike ascorbic acid, this form of vitamin C will not exfoliate or irritate skin, and it will not oxidize (and become pro-aging) as easily as ascorbic acid does.

The bad and the good

Bad news, just because you spent extra on your skincare (hello, $100+ bottle of vitamin C), that doesn't mean the manufacturers used better ingredients. What you paid for is not what you got, in this case.

Good news, Mox's powerful products are based on three principles:

  1. High-quality, fat-soluble vitamins penetrate the skin’s water insoluble barrier to provide nutrition.
  2. We choose cell-friendly ingredients that occur naturally in the skin. Like any good relationship they are compatible, functional and non-toxic.
  3. Our clean, highly-concentrated formulas aren’t diluted with fillers, preservatives, wax, oil, emulsifiers or water. So a little goes a long way.

With Mox, you get what you pay for. The Mox multi-nutrient serum is a topical multivitamin for all skin types and loaded with the five essential skin health vitamins: C, E, A, D & K! And Mox uses the highest quality of topical vitamin C, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate.
